Getting Started

  • Q. How do I install DBit in Microsoft Teams?

Search for "DBit" in the Microsoft Teams app store or visit Microsoft AppSource. Click "Add" to install it. After installation, sign up for a free trial or create your organization account.

      Go to AppSource
  • Q. Is there a web version of DBit available?

Yes! Access DBit from any modern web browser at https://org.dbit.io. The web app gives full access to all vaults, vault items, and password management features outside of Microsoft Teams.

  • Q. How do I set up my first vault?

After logging in, navigate to the Vaults section and click "Create Vault." Give your vault a name and choose Private (only you) or Shared (your team). Then add vault items to start storing credentials.

  • Security

  • Q. Is DBit Secure?

We use HTTPS and AES-256 to encrypt your password on our cloud servers.

Your passwords are encrypted with AES-256 bit encryption when on our servers and travel to our servers using HTTPS. Passwords will automatically expire and are never stored on disk — only in memory, encrypted.

  • Q. What encryption does DBit use?

DBit uses a combination of industry-leading encryption technologies: AES-256 bit encryption, Public/Private RSA Keys, and PBKDF2 (Password-Based Key Derivation Function 2) with unique salting and multiple iterations. Your data is encrypted on your device before it is ever transmitted.

  • Q. Can Diamondsoft employees see my passwords?

No. DBit uses end-to-end encryption. Your passwords are encrypted on your device using your credentials before being stored. Diamondsoft Solutions employees never have access to your unencrypted password data.

  • Q. Where is my data stored?

Your vault data is stored encrypted on DBit's cloud servers. Because all data is encrypted end-to-end on your device before being sent, our servers only ever hold encrypted data — never your actual passwords.

  • Q. What is the "Have I Been Pwned?" feature?

DBit integrates with the Have I Been Pwned? database — a publicly maintained database of known data breaches. You can check whether any stored passwords have appeared in a known breach. This check runs without ever exposing your actual password to the external service.

DBit is accessible through the Teams mobile app. For the best experience with all features, we recommend the Teams desktop or web app, or DBit's web application directly.

  • Vaults & Sharing

  • Q. What is a Shared Vault?

A Shared Vault is a password vault accessible by multiple team members based on the permissions you set. You control who can view, add, edit, or remove vault items. Ideal for storing team credentials like shared logins for tools, environments, or client portals.

  • Q. Can I share an individual password without a vault?

Yes. The secure password sharing feature lets you share a single password in a Microsoft Teams chat with an expiration timer (default 5 minutes). You can force-expire it at any time. This is available on all plans including Basic.
